A new unscripted documentary series is being produced by BET and Irving “Irv Gotti” Lorenzo titled, murder inc.
The five-part televised event is set to chronicle the untold story of the rise, fall, and redemption of Murder Inc. Records; and the mastermind behind hip-hop powerhouse Irv Gotti.
According to the statement announced today, each episode will take viewers through the label’s early days to the present day, featuring never-before-seen archive footage. Along with a rich catalog of music chart toppers and the power players who helped shape a musical era that would influence generations to come.
Founded in 1999, New York label Murder Inc. Records has played a pivotal role in nurturing the careers of some of hip hop and R&B’s most influential voices. Murder Inc. has helped launch and direct the careers of artists such as yes rule, Ashanti, lloyd, Charlie Baltimore, resumeand other.
murder inc. is scheduled to premiere on BET in the summer of 2022.
“My life and Murder Inc. have been full of ups and downs. I’ve worked with my brothers and a lot of great people; from Jay Z, DMX, Fat Joe, Mary J Bligejust to name a few,” said Irv Gotti.
“Plus, I got to start my record label, Murder Inc. Records, with Ja Rule by my side.” Gotti added, “My life has been full of big lows, but I’m not ashamed of those lows. All of this has helped make me the person I am today. So I intend to tell the truth and nothing but the truth with this documentary series, so help me GOD.”
