Chris Webber’s time at TNT seems to be over. Webber and TNT split, Andrew Marchand of the New York Post reported Thursday evening. Webber wasn’t dating Marv Albert on Thursday’s first game of TNT’s double header. Instead, Reggie Miller acted as the analyst.
TNT and Webber’s split paths came as no surprise. Marchand says the two sides hadn’t really had talks about Webber’s future and that TNT didn’t want the former NBA star back. It was also found that Webber didn’t want to return either.
Webber joined TNT in 2008 as a color commentator and occasional studio analyst. He joined the network shortly after completing his 15-year NBA career. The timing of the split seems strange as the NBA playoffs start next week. No word on who will be paired with Albert for the playoffs. Marchand believes Miller, Grant Hill, or even Jim Jackson Webber’s could take on roles.
