VH1 has announced the Smash franchise Black ink crew will return on Monday, February 21 at 8pm ET/PT with back-to-back season debuts from Black Ink Crew: New York and Black Ink Crew: Compton.
the Black Ink Crew: New York Squad is back at the Brooklyn flagship store, bigger and better than ever. Ceaser, the store’s owner and tycoon, continues to build the Black Ink brand while preventing his closest associates from bringing it down.
Ceaser, the CEO of Black Ink, brings the crew back to New York this season in New York following their stay in Atlanta to show they are stronger as a unit and giving back to the community. In his personal life, he finds that he can no longer remain silent while his family drama is aired in the media for all to see. Ted invests in his craft as a musician and actor, leading him to consider relocating to Atlanta full-time. Puma’s stay in Atlanta has proven to be good for him and his family. Now the New Yorker feels compelled to rethink his living situation and quality of life. After witnessing and experiencing prejudice against Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders firsthand last season, Young Bae is even more determined to make the world a better place for her son Niko. Tatti has embraced a new Zen mindset and settled into a leadership role within the business after struggling to maintain relationships with her colleagues despite dealing with some significant legal issues. Alex wants to stay with his Black Ink family, but now that Donna is gone, he’s unsure about his future in the business.
the Black ink group: Compton The crew is back, and Bossman KP is trying to strengthen his community and reestablish his position as the leader of the crew. Later in the season, Katrina “Kat Tat” Jackson, the first BIPOC woman to own a tattoo shop in Beverly Hills, returns to business for the first time in four years.

After the pandemic shutdown and social unrest caused by institutional bias, KP, the owner of InkArtMusic, begins this new season with a clear vision for himself. He is determined to take the opportunity that comes his way and, through the art of tattooing, start a movement in the city that celebrates the talent, passion and rich culture of the community. Following the success of “Happy Ice” on Melrose, Lemeir plans to open a second food truck business and bring a new member to his growing family in fiancee Danielle. After a rocky start at KP and his IAM Compton business, his enthusiasm for tattooing has faded as his private life has expanded.
After a near-death experience, Ink Drippin’ has refocused his energies on his family and turned to holistic medicine to put his pieces back together. Barbie, the store receptionist and longtime friend of Bossman KP, returns to bring a whole load of flair, class and sass to the crew.
Vudu Dahl is a talent anomaly in the tattoo industry unlike any other artist on the IAM team. In the meantime, she used her skills elsewhere when the IAM shop was put on hold. This season, Alana returns with a fresh perspective. A health problem forces her to return to Los Angeles and start her life over after moving to Arizona with her new lover.
