Conor McGregor34, is the youngest professional fighter to cross from the cage to the big screen when it was announced on Wednesday that the former UFC champion will make his acting debut, in which he will star alongside Jake Gyllenhaal street house make new.

“Conor McGregor is very excited to extend his successful career into Hollywood and join Jake Gyllenhaal in this reinterpretation of a beloved classic, ‘Road House,'” said McGregor’s publicist Karen J. Kessler in an official statement. “While combat remains his primary focus, this marks the beginning of another successful endeavor in the McGregor empire. He is looking forward to starting filming.”
According to various sources, Gyllenhaal will star in the Amazon Studios-produced reimagining of the classic 1980s film, starring Patrick Swayze, as a former UFC fighter – who, like the original, returns home to the Florida Keys to become a bouncer . The film begins production in the Dominican Republic this month and is slated for release on Prime Video in 2023. McGregor’s role in the film is currently unknown.

Outside of film, McGregor is currently healing from a broken leg he sustained in an MMA match with Dustin Poirier in July 2021. McGregor was named the highest-paid athlete of 2021 after selling the majority of his Proper Twelve whiskey brand to Jose Cuervo in April 2021 for $600 million.
