“They wrote the third equalizer, so I’m supposed to do that.” Denzel Washington told Collider of returning to his vengeful series The Equalizer, which is currently in talks with the studio about a third installment. “So I need to get in shape and start hitting people again. I can hit people again. The tragedy of Macbeth and then beating up some people. It doesn’t get any better than that, does it?”

The Oscar winner revealed the project’s trilogy during the press run for his new film The Tragedy of Macbeth. Sources close to Equalizer director and longtime Washington collaborator Antonie Fuqua confirmed the third film, which is currently in negotiations but is guaranteed to be the next film of the two. Fuqua is currently working with Will Smith on a new film entitled Emancipation. No official release date at press time. Washington and Fuqua worked on the series of two previous films – Washington’s only sequel.
“In my eyes there is absolutely a European adventure. In my eyes I would like to see him in Europe in the future. God willing,” Washington says.

To date, Washington and Fuqua’s chemistry has created four films, including The Magnificent Seven and Training Day, for which Washington won a Best Actor Oscar in 2001. The year-old actor directed ‘A Journal for Jordan,’ starring Michael B. Jordan, which released last month.
Released in 2018, The Equalizer, the film’s latest installment, follows Washington’s character Robert McCall – a former Marine living a peaceful life after a past of ruthless espionage – who seeks merciless revenge on various enemies, those close to him , inflict damage.
