The NFL announced at its annual convention Monday that the Detroit Lions will appear on the HBO show Hard Knocks this summer. The five-episode series, which provides a behind-the-scenes look at training camp and preseason, is scheduled to run from August 9 to September 9. 6.
“We are excited for the opportunity to showcase the city of Detroit and the amazing culture we are building at the Lions,” said Rod Wood, Detroit Lions team president and CEO. “HBO Sports and NFL Films are the best of the best and we know they will be excellent partners in sharing our story with football fans around the world.”
This will be the Lions’ first appearance at Hard Knocks. The Lions, who were coming off a 3-13-1 season and four consecutive last places in the NFC North, were an attractive selection this year in part because of head coach Dan Campbell. The team will look to build on a strong performance at the end of the season and put the Lions back in playoff contention.
