Pixar’s LGBTQ+ employees claim Disney executives have called for a curtailment of same-sex affection in films. diversity The employees reportedly wrote a statement saying executives wanted to “cut almost every moment of openly gay affection, despite protests from both the creative teams and senior management at Pixar.”
“At Pixar, we have personally witnessed beautiful stories full of diverse characters that have come back from Disney corporate reviews that have become crumbs of what they used to be,” the letter reads. “Even though creating LGBTQIA+ content was the answer to fixing discriminatory legislation in the world, we are banned from creating it.”

This comes as the company emailed its response to what critics called the “Don’t Say Gay” law recently passed in Florida.
Disney’s CEO said in the email that “the biggest impact” the company can make is “creating a more inclusive world” in the content they produce. According to the Pixar employee, this claim contradicts the employees’ experiences.
