According to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst and Ramona Shelburne, Los Angeles Clippers All-Star Kawhi Leonard is expected to miss the fifth game against Utah Jazz on Wednesday night due to a knee injury.
Leonard landed funny on a ride Monday night in the fourth quarter of Game 4 and appeared to be in pain. He told his teammates Tuesday night to prepare for him to miss Game 5.
Leonard scored 31 points when he won Game 4 in LA on Monday evening. That performance was days away from a performance of 34 points and 12 rebounds in Game 3. Leonard, who played only 52 of 72 games in the previous regular season, has not missed a postseason competition this year.
In order for the Clippers to win Game 5, Paul George must stand up and carry the load. If George and the Clippers hold more than one game without Leonard, the Clippers might consider a second straight exit in the second round of the playoffs.
