In an exclusive interview with All the smoke, Demetrius “Lil Meech” Flenory Jr., who operated his father at 50 Cent. plays BMF Series on the Starz Network, talks about the moment he realized who his father really was and his influence on the drug game.
The Flenory Brothers story is shown in great detail in the BMF series, but in real life Big Meech’s son had no idea his father was a notorious drug dealer until he was a teenager. 21-year-old Flenory stated, “I really didn’t get it until I started my teenage years. I hear the rappers say his name in songs and I go out and just meet all kinds of different people and they tell me what my dad did for them. Because my family still didn’t tell me like ‘Your Daddy’s Big Meech’ when I grew up. “
Big Meech was found guilty of running a nationwide continuous criminal enterprise and money laundering conspiracy until the FBI hunted down the Black Mafia Family in 2007. Meech was sentenced to 30 years in prison, but last summer some of his time was cut as Judge David M. Lawson took 36 months off Meech’s 360-month prison sentence.
