According to a report by CBS News in New York, the actor is Micah Beals, best known for his role in CSI: NY, was arrested yesterday for destroying the George Floyd memorial statue in New York earlier this month.
The 37-year-old actor, whose real name is Micah Fernia, is said to have thrown paint on the Floyd statue on October 3, just four days after the statue was unveiled. The NYPD released surveillance footage of the vandal on October 4, showing a skateboarder going into his backpack and pulling out a can of paint that he tossed at the new sculpture.
Before Beal was arrested by the NYPD, he was arrested during the Capitol Hill Riots on Jan. 6 for violating the curfew. Beals is now charged with second-degree criminal mischief, which can result in a potential prison sentence of up to seven years.
