The Wendy Show is now over and according to sources, former host Wendy Williams has no plans to go back to work.
A source spoke up The sun She said Williams doesn’t leave her house and “can’t remember anything.” The source added that Wendy “hasn’t been taking meetings to try and get back on the air,” and it would go a long way to getting her back on the air in the future.
“She can’t remember anything, she needs a teleprompter and she needs someone to remind her of things,” the source said. “She sits in her house, she doesn’t attend meetings, she doesn’t go out, there’s no plan.”
The Wendy Williams Show’s more than ten-year run came to an end last Friday. before the show diversity noted that Wendy Williams would not be present for the final episode. Instead, a video montage celebrating Williams played in the timeslot.
“The final original episode of ‘The Wendy Williams Show’ will air on Friday June 17th with a video tribute to the legendary host. The series is coming to an end after 13 successful years in syndication,” said a spokesperson for the show.
Wendy Williams was absent from her show for the entirety of the 2021-22 season due to health issues. Wendy has been filled in by several guests throughout the season, including Sherri Shepherd, who is hosting last week and will have her own show next fall.
Previously, Williams had stated that she would be returning to her show. Debmar-Mercury co-presidents, show creators Ira Bernstein and Mort Marcus said they were ready to work with the host again.
“It doesn’t mean tomorrow, but we’ll put it together and find out,” Bernstein said. “It’s not like we have a plan B where we push a button and it’ll be back in a week, but we do have a desire to be in business with her when she can come back and be healthy, and so does Fox.”
