Comicbook.com was able to reach out to Snipes, who released a statement letting fans know he was okay with the decision, even though it surprised him.
“To all the crazy DAYWALKERS chillaaxx,” said Snipes. “Although the news comes as a surprise, EVERYTHING is GOOD. This is the ‘business’ of ‘entertainment!’ Much peace to the MCU crew – always a fan. Honor and respect to Grandmaster Stan. Congratulations and Salaam to Mahershala Ali, a beautiful and talented artist whose forms of expression I will be able to experience for many years to come. Inshallah, we will work together one day. Most importantly to my loyal fans, the incredible outpouring of love is overwhelming. I am grateful for the never-ending support. So, ‘Nah, don’t worry, it’s not the end of the story.’ Welcome to the Daywalker clique. “
