A day before her Las Vegas residency begins, Adele has announced that she has had to reschedule all dates.
In an emotional video shared on Twitter, Adele revealed with tears in her eyes that a last-minute decision was made to postpone the show because it wasn’t finished on time.
“I’m so sorry, but my show isn’t done yet,” she told her fans. “We’ve tried absolutely everything to get it together in a timely manner and for it to be good enough for you, but we’ve been absolutely devastated by delivery delays and COVID.”
Half of her crew tested positive for COVID-19, causing significant disruption. “It was impossible to finish the show. And I can’t give you what I have right now and I’m devastated. And I’m so sorry it’s last minute,” she continued.
The residency, titled Weekends With Adele, was scheduled to begin on Friday, January 21 at Caesars Palace’s Coliseum and run through April 16. Tickets for the 24 shows sold out minutes after going on sale last month.
Adele apologized profusely to her fans who traveled to see her this weekend. “I’m so upset and really embarrassed and so sorry for everyone who has traveled again,” she added. “I’m really, really sorry. I’m really sorry.”
She and her team are already working to reschedule all dates and more information will be released soon.
“I’m going to finish my show and put it where it’s supposed to be,” she said. “It’s impossible. We’ve got so much to do and it’s just not done yet.”
