
August Alsina’s days in the music industry could be numbered.
The R&B singer took to Instagram on Monday (September 20) to announce that he is “likely” to retire from music. In a message to his fans, he announced that he intended to release a few more projects before stepping back from the limelight.
“These last couple of projects will likely be the last you see / hear from August Alsina,” he wrote.
But before he stops, he wants to do one “last winning lap”. “Still, I hope that we can enjoy ourselves here on my last victory lap for the sun,” he added. “I will do my best to make it as nostalgic as possible for you, with nice melodies and high vibes.”
August also gave fans a taste of what’s to come by previewing a brand new song.
August released his album in June 2020 The product III: state of emergencywhich featured Lil Wayne, Yo Gotti, and Juicy J. He was also open about his personal life, including his “involvement” with Jada Pinkett Smith and his battle with an autoimmune disease that temporarily paralyzed him.
