As we take a break from our Thanksgiving festivities, Hip Hop is offering some new projects to help us relax and enjoy the holiday weekend. There’s an album this week from a Louisiana reimer who often has a lot to say and seldom holds back, a Brooklyn underdog reimer who often releases new releases around the holidays, and two Oakland artists who are up for a surprise but solid connection.
Boosie BadAzz hits fans with the album Mississippi. This LP, along with another attempt,Back 2 BRThey were supposed to arrive last week, but due to the tragic murder of Young Dolph last Wednesday (November 17th), Boosie decided not to abandon the projects. He said via Twitter: “I RETURN MY ALBUMS TO NOVEMBER 25, BACK TO BR & MISSISSIPPI FOR THE #dolph situations, BOTH ALBUMS THAT FALL ON 11/25.”
Boosie released one of his new singles “Free Game” along with a video to go with it on Wednesday (November 24th). On Tuesday (November 23rd) Boosie unleashed the visual for another track, “People on the Way” with BBE AJ, from his ownBack 2 BR Album. theMississippiThe project includes 19 songs with outstanding tracks such as “Right Now”. Boosie’s last album,Goat talk 2, came back in July. The LP also contained 19 songs in total and featured performances by Pooh Shiesty and more. The video for the joint “Drive the Yacht”, which on. appearsGT2, came out this week too. Despite the controversy Boosie has been involved in lately, that hasn’t affected his music.
Troy Ave has returned with a new album, which for many of its release dates is usually out around the holidays. The Brooklyn rapper comes through with the LPGod is great paper straight. The release contains 11 tracks, including the singles “The Weatherman” and “Money Dance (1-2-3)”. On the latter track, the rapper rhymes with the beat “Lloraras” by salsa legend Oscar D’León.God is great paper straightcomes to Troy’s May project,Kill or be killed .
Then there are Oakland representatives DJ.Fresh and Nef The Pharaoh who are uniting for the projectThe Tonite Show with Nef the Pharaoh. Nef hovers over Fresh’s smooth production for 13 top-class songs. “I Make It Make It Sense”, “On the Run” and “Double Dragon” are just a few of the outstanding albums. FMB DZ and J.
