DaBaby is trying out some tunes for his new song and people have negative thoughts about the change in direction he’s taking.
Yesterday (January 16) the rapper released a new song titled “Sneaky Link Anthem” with a video he directed. The track’s verses feature DaBaby’s familiar rap cadence, but the chorus shows another side of him that hasn’t been heard before.
“They’re so sneaky,” he sings in the heavily autotuned tune. “They don’t know, they don’t know, sneaky,” is repeated four times to complete the chorus.
The song has started making its rounds on social media, with individuals expressing their strongly negative opinions about it.
“Nah he owes me money for listening to this,” wrote one Twitter user.
“This is the worst piece of music I’ve ever heard in my life,” typed another person.
The shots at DaBaby’s new sound don’t look like stopping any time soon.
You can check out the song in full, along with a handful of additional reactions, at the bottom of this post.
DaBaby isn’t starting 2022 with the most positive fan reactions after having a rocky second half through 2021. It started in July with his homophobic comments on Rolling Loud Miami, which led to him being banned from numerous festivals and shows.
After a whirlwind of headlines, the “Rockstar” rapper seemed to have managed to settle the dust for the rest of 2021. However, drama erupted again around the rapper in November when a situation broke out between him and DaniLeigh, the mother of his youngest daughter, unfolded in real-time on Instagram Live. DaBaby eventually called the police about Dani and she was charged with simple assault.
