The feud between Drake and Kanye West took an interesting turn this weekend.
Early Saturday morning (September 4th) to celebrate the release of his new album Certified lover boy, Drake was a guest DJ at SiriusXM’s Tone 42 Radio broadcast. During his set, Drizzy made a villainous move by playing an unreleased Kanye West song with André 3000 and a final sermon from DMX called “Life of the Party,” which supposedly for Yeezys. has been recorded Donda Album.
In the song, which seems to be a diss track for Drake, Kanye mentions the OVO sound leader by name and describes a text exchange between him, the fashion designer Virgil Abloh and Drizzy.
“I put Virgil and Drake on the same text / And it wasn’t about the matching Arc’teryx or Kid Cudi dress / I just told these grown men that the funny shit should stop / I could do the whole team hire from ACG / So don’t write to me like I’m Juanita JCV, ”he raps.
Towards the end of the song, ‘Ye delivers a final warning shot to the Toronto rap star.
“I told Drake don’t play GD with me / And he sent this message to everyone / So if I hit you with a ‘WYD’ / You better hit me with ‘Yes sir, I’ll write everything you need’ / I told you I’d take the summer back / So none of the hats take none of it / Where’s my muthafuckin ‘red hat? he spits. Stream the track at the end of this post.
Interestingly, Kanye’s cautionary verses to Drake aren’t what fans are excited about. It is actually André 3000’s beautiful verse to his late mother Sharon Benjamin Hodo. Throughout his entire portion of the song, Three Stacks begs Kanye’s mother, Ms. Donda West, to bring his thoughtful messages to his mother.
“Miss Donda, when you see my mom tell her I’m lost / you always light a cigarette, we talk, I would cough / exaggerate a bit to get the point / try her to do this Quit smoking, I went and started a joint / ‘Until I stopped starting again twenty years later,’ he rhymes.
On social media, fans are impressed with Andre’s warm and masterful storytelling about his mother, Sharon.
“The way Andre 3000 tells a story should be studied by every rapper. The way he weaves through time, describes his actions, offers multiple perspectives and connects them with meaning. His writing is masterful, ”tweeted one fan.
It now appears that Drake isn’t done mocking Kanye. This morning Drizzy jumped on his Instagram page and posted a photo of himself with his back turned with the headline “Garbage Disposal”.
