It looks like Gucci Mane reacted to YoungBoy Never Broke Again.
Tonight (March 4th) Guwop dropped a new song titled “Publicity Stunt” which apparently retaliates to NBA YoungBoy’s recent diss to Gucci in “I Hate YoungBoy” in which YB raps: “I used to shag Gucci until I saw he liked her, bitch.”
Rumors that Gucci would drop a response arose after he posted a photo of himself with the caption “I feel like Gucci Mane in 2006” last night (March 3). The line is lyric from YoungBoy’s 2019 song “Make No Sense.”
Gucci doesn’t mention the NBA by name in “Publicity Stunt,” but does make a few references to the controversial rapper. He spits into the hook, “He’s trying to pull off a publicity stunt/These rappers are pussies, they bleed once a month/Don’t talk about my name, don’t get blunted.”
In the first verse, Gucci seems to refer to YB’s alleged respect he had for Guwop at one point. “Why are you dissing me for publicity, n***a? / Are you in the street or in the industry, n***a? / Are you my fan or my enemy, n***a?”
He’s probably also referring to YB in the second verse when he says, “Why are you signing idiots? I don’t fuck with these rappers. It’s unclear who else he might be targeting with those bars, though Lil Wop dissed Gucci earlier this week.
Finally, towards the end of the song, Gucci is heard saying, “I thought you felt like Gucci Mane in 2006,” in an obvious impression of YoungBoy’s voice.
