Young Thug remains in “great mood” in light of recent events.
Thug’s former fiancé, Jerrika Karlae, shared an update on the rapper’s mental health while he remains behind bars following his arrest on RICO charges. In an interview with The Progress Report, Jerrika said she spoke to Thug, who is doing fine despite his circumstances.
“Actually, he’s fine. He’s in the best of moods. I feel like this is just a moment for him to learn a lot of lessons,” she told the podcast.
Rather than worrying about himself, Thug was more concerned about his ex’s well-being. “He was like, ‘Keep your head in the game, wake up every day and put a smile on your face and be thankful,'” said Jerrika, who is signed to Young Stoner Life Records.
She has also noticed the growth of her former boyfriend, who she believes has always been a man of God. “I really feel like I can see his faith,” she said. “This man really knows the Bible inside and out. Nobody would know that about him because nobody talks about it.
Just days after Thug’s arrest, his YSL signee Lil Keed died at the age of 24. Jerrika said Thug was “torn up” over his sudden death.
Thug is expected to remain in prison until his January 2023 trial. He was named along with Gunna and other members of YSL in a 56-count RICO indictment, which includes charges ranging from drug and weapons possession to murder. During a hearing Thursday, a judge denied Thug’s bail, citing concerns he posed a danger to the community and could intimidate other witnesses.
