The first half of 2022 is almost over and the past few weeks have brought us some notable releases from the likes of Pusha-T, Future, Jack Harlow and Kendrick Lamar. Hip-hop continues to push in the month of June.
After a three-year solo album hiatus, Chris Brown returns on June 24th with a new LP entitled Airy. The Virginia singer has been making the release since earlier in the year, having already dropped singles “Iffy” and “WE (Warm Embrace)” in January and April respectively. Chris has hinted that he will return to his R&B roots on this album, his latest since dueting with Young Thug in 2020. Slime & B.
“NOT GON LIE…Some of these songs on my album take a different kind of LOVE mixed with heartbreak,” he wrote on his Instagram Story in April. “Well in advance… THANK YOU.” To promote the album, Chris will be on the One of Them Ones Tour with Lil Baby. The 36-date tour begins July 15th in Raleigh, NC and will make stops in Philadelphia, New York, Boston, Chicago, Detroit, Atlanta, Los Angeles, Houston and more before concluding in Las Vegas on August 27th.
Does the mega success come from Beer Bongs & Bentleys and Hollywood bleedingPost Malone will try to outdo himself on album #4, Twelve carat toothache. Posty initially hoped to release the album in 2020 but postponed the release, presumably due to the pandemic. In April, Post Malone manager Dre London announced that the project would be released in May. The date has since been pushed back to June 3. A few weeks ago, Post released the single “Cooped Up” with Roddy Ricch, which featured the duo performing Saturday night live.
Kevin Gates new Khaza Album coming in June. 24. The Baton Rouge, La. rapper is back with the continuation of his 2019 year I am he LP. Khaza contains 19 songs including the previously released singles “Big Lyfe” and “Bad for Me”. The third studio album in Gates’ discography, the formerXXL Freshman shows his growth in the project without compromising his aggressive approach. Kevin Gates will also embark on a summer tour to promote the album. The Big Lyfe Tour begins in August and ends in October.
