Fans may still be pressing playdonda, but Kanye West is already back with new music.
At midnight on Saturday (January 15), Yeezy made good on its promise from earlier this week and released a new track with The Game called “Eazy” produced by Hit-Boy, Mike Dean, Big Duke, DJ Premier and Cash Jones .
On the record, Ye raps, “God saved me from this crash / Just so I can smack Pete Davidson’s ass (Who?)” and references his estranged wife’s boyfriend Kim Kardashian.
Ahead of the song’s arrival, Game spoke on the track, saying, “Life should be easy for everyone, we choose to make it harder for ourselves and others. Change your perspective and change the world.”
The song is a Spotify exclusive, available for 24 hours from its release at midnight tonight.
In video footage shared to social media by designer Tracey Mills earlier this week, Kanye FaceTimed with DJ Premier and revealed the song would hit the ground running. Ye, who was in the studio with Game and Pusha-T at the time, said in the video call, “We have a song that we’re releasing on Friday and we wanted you to do a scratch if possible.”
Ye also told the legendary DJ, “We’re starting a whole… we’re about to just control the sound of the music, it’s up to us now, period.”
Kanye’s sequel todonda, which Steven Victor recently revealed is in the works, is rumored to be out soon. Moneybagg Yo followed the boss of Victor Victor Worldwide providing the update on Ye’s new music and shared a screenshot of a conversation between him and Kanye in which Ye is talking to Bagg about a verse that will likely appear on the LP, tentatively titleddonda 2.
While there’s no current release date for the effort, it’s unclear when it will drop, especially given the initial offering delays.
