A song on DONDA could shed more light on Kanye West and Kim Kardashian’s marital problems.
The text for “Hurricane” alludes to the fact that Kanye was unfaithful during the couple’s nearly seven-year marriage.
On the song supported by The Weeknd and Lil Baby, Ye raps: “Here I go actin ‘too rich / Here I go with a new chick / And I know what the truth is / Still playing after two kids / It’s too much digest when your life is always on the move. “
According to Page Six, which cites “multiple sources,” Kanye cheated on Kim after greeting her first two children, North and Saint.
The “new chick,” however, isn’t Irina Shayk, who Kanye dated briefly after Kim filed for divorce in February.
“If you look closely at the lyrics, he is referring to his infidelity during his marriage to Kim, even after two children,” said the insider.
Elsewhere on “Hurricane,” Kanye raps about not going home to the couple’s mansion in Hidden Hills and how he struggled with alcohol.
“Architectural Digest, but I needed home improvement / sixty million dollar house, never went home,” he raps. “Genius has gone clueless, there’s a lot to risk / alcohol anonymously, who’s the busiest loser?”
Despite reports of infidelity, the couple had two more children, Chicago and Psalm, before ending their marriage this year. West’s presidential run and Twitter tirades have also weighed on their relationship.
But they remain under good conditions. Kim made a surprise appearance at Kanyes DONDA Experience on the Chicago soldier field. She wore a white wedding gown as she re-enacted the couple’s 2014 marriage while reportedly they are “working on rebuilding” their relationship.
DONDA draws up big numbers in the first week. The album topped Apple Music’s top album charts in 152 countries in 24 hours and is expected to debut with the biggest week of sales of 2021.
Kanye also has the first official video of DONDA for “Come to Life,” featuring footage from his Chicago listening event, including the wedding scene.
