Kim Kardashian is pushing her divorce.
A day after Kanye West asked to save his marriage during his concert with Drake, the beauty mogul filed legal documents to officially declare her single. On Friday, Kim asked a court to separate child custody and property issues from marital status. She is also trying to remove “West” from her last name and restore her maiden name, according to TMZ.
If signed by a judge, she could get on with her life and resolve other divorce issues at a later date.
Kim’s attorney Laura Wasser has taken similar steps with other celebrity clients, including Dr. Dre and Kelly Clarkson to separate marital status from other issues.
Just hours before Kim filed the petition, Kanye publicly pleaded for his wife to come back to the LA Memorial Coliseum Thursday night during his Free Larry Hoover show with Drake. While performing “Runaway”, he added an improvised routine: “Run back to me … more specifically, Kimberly.”
Kim was present at the concert with her children North and Saint. Previously, both of them attended Virgil Abloh’s last Louis Vuitton show, as well as the late designer’s funeral service.
This isn’t the first time Kanye has asked for Kim to come back. On Thanksgiving, he talked about keeping his family together on Skid Row during the LA Mission’s Thanksgiving event.
“We made mistakes in all of these relationships. I made mistakes, ”he said. “I’ve done things publicly that were unacceptable as a husband, but right now, for whatever reason – I didn’t know I was going to stand here in front of this microphone – but I’m here to change this narrative . “
“I need to be next to my children as much as possible,” added Ye. “I’m trying to put this in the most sensible and calm way possible, but I have to be home again.”
Despite his requests, the divorce is in progress. In October, Kim bought the couple’s $ 60 million Hidden Hills home, where the couple’s four children have lived since their February divorce. Kim agreed to pay Ye $ 23 million to offset the value of the property.
