Lil Yachty pays tribute to XXXTentacion.
On the third anniversary of his death on Friday (June 18), Lil Boat took to Instagram to share a series of text messages between him and his late friend.
In a text, Yachty XXX asks for the text for his song “Valentine”. When XXX asks if he likes the song, Yachty replies: “Fu ** ing love it.”
Yachty tells XXX that he wants to remix one of his songs before proposing a new collaboration. “I’ll do it, and we can do something new,” says XXX.
At some point they explain their love to each other. “I love u ni ** a U a good ni ** a”, writes XXX, to which Yachty replies: “I love you, brother, his gang.”
Along with the lyrics, Yachty reflected their real friendship. “With my mom we don’t do anything other than exchange love. Pure positivity. You are a god my good sir @xxxtentacion, ”said Yachty, who held a candlelight vigil for his friend in Atlanta after his death.

In a 2018 interview with Rap-Up, Yachty spoke of the tragic loss and vowed to carry on the legacy of XXX.
“It made me feel a better person in life,” he said. “I just want to pick up where he left off. He tried to do so many positive things for the community. He wanted a helping hand everywhere. I want to somehow take over this legacy and really make something out of it. “
XXXTentacion, born Jahseh Dwayne Onfroy, was shot and killed outside a motorcycle dealer in Florida on June 18, 2018. He was 20 years old. His mother, Jahseh Onfroy, also shared a tribute video in memory of her son.
