After Minaj talked about Zoom the next day, Minaj believed Burstein had agreed to represent her, but wasn’t formally hired until later.
“My failure to respond to the complaint was the product of an innocent mistake and I ask the court to apologize for the delay so that I can defend what I believe to be a completely reckless case, the [Blackburn’s] Lawyers charged me with promoting themselves using my name, ”she said.
Minaj also denied that a copy of the subpoena and complaint was served on her husband. It is reported that the process server delivered the legal documents to a “Black man, 40 years old, £ 200”. with black hair and brown eyes.
“In fact, my husband is about five feet tall and weighs no more than 175 pounds,” Minaj said in the documents. “In addition, there is no person who lives in our house or was present on September 15, 2021 who corresponds to the description in the affidavit.”
Burstein describes Nicki as “the proverbial ‘deep pocket'” and requests that the amended complaint be dismissed.
