Nicki Minaj sets the record for her drug use.
Fresh from republishing her Beam me up, Scotty Mixtape, the Queen went to Instagram Live on Friday afternoon to discuss the “topic of the day”, her cold. On her IG Live the day before, viewers noticed her runny nose and frequent colds, and social media went into a frenzy. There was speculation that she was sniffing because she was using drugs, particularly cocaine.
But Nicki put the rumors to rest. “You would know, if you are a fan of mine, that all you have to do, if you want to know my drug of choice or my drug of choice, just listen to my music, Chile, because it’s all right” said Nicki, who kept sniffing while she had her hair done.
“I wouldn’t be ashamed of myself when it comes to drugs that I’ve been on. That’s why I talk about the mother in drugs that I do in my music, always have, always fu ** in ‘sake,” she added.
However, she made it clear that she has never used cocaine in her life. “I have never in my life with my hand on Jesus Christ … never in my life, never, not even, smelled Cola – never!” She said. “It was just never my drug of choice.”
She said the runny nose stems from her persistent allergies, sometimes triggered by wearing contacts. She also feels cold on a regular basis because her “natural body temperature is just below the average person”.
She takes Allegra at least once a day to relieve her allergy symptoms. “That’s me all day, sniffing all the time.”
She has friends who make Coke, but she never did it personally. “I’ve never tried, never wanted to, never asked her – it’s so common and normal, especially in the fashion world.”
Nicki has shared her love of pills in songs like “Pills N Potions” and “Miami”, in which she raps about Percs, Xannies and Addies.
She later found out she enjoyed the smell of alcohol and bleach. “I love sniffing alcohol and I love sniffing bleach,” she admitted. “I started sniffing a little bleach when I was pregnant.”
On Friday Minaj celebrated the 12th anniversary of her mixtape Beam me up, Scotty by first releasing to streaming services with three new titles including “Seeing Green” starring Drake and Lil Wayne.
