It’s always a good day for new music and today is no different. This week brings new joints from a former 2019 XXL Freshman from Compton, a pioneer of the Chicago drill scene, and a prolific rhyme from Atlanta.
After a long two-year wait, Roddy Ricch is back with his second album. Live life fast. Although the native Californian provided some of his colleagues with melodic vocals, it’s been a minute since we’ve heard new music. But unfortunately Roddy is back. His latest offering includes 18 songs and gigs from Future, Lil Baby, Kodak Black, 21 Savage and more. Earlier this month, Grammy-winning Reim released a visual for a track featuring sounds by Ty Dolla $ ign over a remake of Rick Ross’ “Live Fast, Die Young,” a nod to Roddy’s own album title. Roddy Ricch’s debut album,Please excuse me for being anti-social, arrived in 2019.
Chicago’s own chief Keef has released some music as well. His newest,4NEM, contains 15 songs and comes with an NFT – a non-fungible token – of the album cover. Those who purchase the album’s NFT will have access to an upcoming Web 3.0 experience that will allow the buyer to purchase upcoming physical NFTs.4NEM follows Keef’s re-releaseBang (10th Anniversary Edition)), which originally came out in 2011, and its 2020 efforts,The GloFiles (Part 4).
Gucci Mane is adding another project to its list of Christmas-themed releases with the new 1017 compilationSuch an icy Christmas. Guwop fully exhibited and published his list of talents this year including Pooh Shiesty, Foogiano, Big Scarr, Hot Boy Wes, BigDogWalk, and BigFizzleSo icy boyz Compilation in October. The Atlanta-based imprint’s latest album features 17 songs, including X-Mas-themed cuts like “Nose Red”, “Like the Grinch” and “All I Want for Christmas”.
