TI has apparently stepped back into the booth to proclaim his innocence against ongoing sexual assault and drug allegations.
On Friday May 21st, the 40 year old Atlanta native released a new single called “What It’s Come To”. On the new track, the Rhymer appears to be responding to claims that he and his wife Tameka “Tiny” Harris sexually assaulted and drugged at least 20 women. The allegations date back to 2005.
Towards the end of the first verse, he raps, “Go and put your face and reputation on it. / These claims deserve more than anonymous / provocative talks, don’t they? / They say let’s beat him with the one-two / You see how many Niggas did this / speak for the people, anything you did we can undo / welcome to pro-intel part two, damn, that’s what it comes down to. “
At the beginning of the track, TI refers to blackmail, suggesting that the unnamed people mentioned on the track are trying to illegally get Tip out of the money. Later lines in the song indicate that TI is unwilling to pay to have these allegations go away.
“Fuck it, I’m going to kill the jury, who are you lying on shawty? / Blackmail, is that what you wanted to do, shawty?” he spits. “Tell them, ‘Get it how you live, shawty, I won’t do it’ / I take it all away every day of the week / I bet you think this shit is cute and I would pay for a week / And you could take or leave this shit, I’m just saying my piece / I’ve looked at all the traffic when you play on the street. “
He also apparently refers to the people who accuse him of sexual assault as “lying sluts”.
“Since Meech put up billboards, saw double bodies / And 12 asked me about him, but I stayed solid / They blew up my house and found a gun, I was on probation / All because I wasn’t going to attend the investigation / I went for a year jail, high point of my career / But when I got home his case was thrown away / I then told him, “Maybe you should relax” / He said, “Listen, tip.” if they want, why do they me want / I’m Ball until they got me / Had to digest what he said, let it sit for a minute / Had to respect it, shit, like it or at least he didn’t do it / Ready to face the consequences for his vision ask / While I’m going up against some fucking bitches, damn it, it turned out that way, “he raps.
TI teased the title for the first time on Instagram on Thursday (May 20) and shared an image of the handwritten text with a section of the song playing in the background.
This isn’t the first time Tip or Tiny have spoken about the claims against them. At the end of January, when allegations of suspected wrongdoing began to spread on the Internet, the couple publicly maintained their innocence and continued to do so in the months that followed.
Later this week, the LAPD opened an investigation into the Georgia-based couple into allegations of sexual assault. However, the Las Vegas Metro Police Department has chosen not to investigate as the sexual abuse claims against Tip and Tiny date back to 2010, which is outside the law firm’s statute of limitations.
