Tory Lanez’s surprise appearance on Rolling Loud could land him in jail.
Prosecutors claim the Toronto rapper violated a court order to keep Megan Thee Stallion out of the Miami Festival. According to TMZ, a motion has been filed to convict Tory of violating the injunction issued in his ongoing criminal case.
Tory is alleged to have shot Megan in the foot last summer. The judge’s order requires him to stay at least 100 meters from Megan, who was reportedly still backstage, when Tory made a surprise appearance on the DaBaby set, which took place less than an hour after Megan’s appearance on the same stage.
DaBaby played two songs that featured Megan, “Cry Baby” and “Cash Shit,” before and after Tory took the stage. Megan and her team were reportedly “very upset” and felt that it mocked their ongoing criminal case.
The prosecution tells the judge to either remove Tory’s bail, which could land him in jail, or at least increase his bail.
Prosecutors also believe Tory and DaBaby tried to rush the stage while Megan was performing on Rolling Loud on July 25th. However, a source close to Tory claims he neither saw Megan nor got physically close to her.
A hearing on the motion for contempt is scheduled for Thursday, August 19th.
