The cause of death of the Astroworld victims is known.
According to a report from the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences, all 10 people who died during the Travis Scott Festival died of “compression suffocation”.
Of those who choked in the crowd, one had a “contributory cause of death” due to the “combined toxic effects of cocaine, methamphetamine and ethanol”.
The concert-goers ranged from 27 to the youngest victim, 9-year-old Ezra Blount. Three of the victims were female and seven were male.
The Astroworld stage was only demolished this week, 40 days after the end of the concert. Authorities are continuing to investigate what errors led to these deaths.
Travis is facing billions in lawsuits while its brand has suffered as well. He has reportedly been removed from the Coachella line-up while Anheuser-Busch has discontinued his Cacti-Hard-Seltzer.
After the tragedy, Travis forms a concert safety committee to ensure that a tragedy like Astroworld never happens again.
“It is my responsibility to find out what happened here. It is my responsibility to find the solution, ”he said in his first interview since the concert on November 5th. “At the end of the day, everyone just has to work together to find the solution to the end result.”
