Latt! Young Thug is back with a punk-rock influenced vibe in the form of his second solo album. punk.
On Friday (October 15), after a slight delay, Thugger unleashed his latest masterpiece, punk. First announced this summer during the rapper’s NPR Tiny Desk performance, the album comes with 20 songs and a starred list of guest appearances from Drake, J. Cole, Travis Scott, Juice Wrld, Mac Miller, Future, Post Malone, Gunna and more. Before the LP was released, Thug released his single “Tick Tock”, destroyed a Rolls-Royce with his YSL artist and protégé Gunna, and gave several Lyft drivers a free and early recording of the album.
Young Thug’s final release, the label compilation, Slime language 2, released April 16, consists of 23 songs and bars by Drake, Travis Scott, Future, Lil Baby, Kid Cudi, Yung Bleu and performances by Young Stoner Life Records artists such as Gunna, Lil Duke, Yak Gotti, Strick, Yung Kayo and more.
A week later SL2 was released on April 25, the LP landed at number 1 on the Billboard 200 charts and moved 113.00 equivalent album units, including 1000 album sales. The initialSlime languagecame out in August 2018 and landed at number 8 on the album charts after selling 40,000 albums of the same value.
punk is Thugger’s solo successor to his debut album,So much fun that fell in August 2019.
